While at her friend’s New Years Eve party in Manhattan, Donna was introduced to Frank Jacklone, President of the US operation of Tian Collections. The manufacturer was based in China with offices at 1410 Broadway, NYC.
Donna’s friend, Pat Sellers, a writer for Cosmopolitan magazine, brought out a garment that Donna had designed for her. The following week Jacklone called Donna to design Misses Sportswear for the company.
From her studio in Bradenton, Florida, Donna designed hundreds of garments and traveled bi-monthly for New York for the company.
Her designs included intarsia sweaters, knit sportswear, and embellished pieces that were the trend at that time.
